We are pleased to announce our latest member to the team, Ellie. 👋
Ellie has just started as our Digital Marketing Apprentice! She will be working with our social team to create new and exciting content.
Here’s a bit about Ellie and her thoughts about joining us:
“On the 4th of April, I joined Wildfire as a Digital Marketing apprentice. I have always had an interest in social media and creating content and I wanted to learn more about why social media is a good tool for brands when helping to promote their products and services.
In January 2021, during the second lockdown, whilst still working full time at my previous job, I decided to start a side hustle, ‘Balloon Emporium’. A lot of ‘non-essential’ shops shut around this time, so I thought it was the perfect time to start my balloon business where I could offer people balloons that they couldn’t get from many shops during the lockdown. I made balloons and displays for special events and occasions.
Being my own boss involved tasks such as: creating content for my Facebook and Instagram page, editing photos and videos of my work, then writing captions that were engaging for new and existing customers, thinking of ways to promote my products, managing my time efficiently for deliveries and collections and being active consistently on my social platforms. I really enjoyed being my own boss and creating my own content, and my balloon business solidified my decision to do a digital marketing apprenticeship.
After being in several different customer facing industries since leaving school and college, I realised it was time for my next chapter. My previous jobs enabled me to gain a lot of customer service experience and made me more confident, and I decided that I had enough customer experience and was ready for my next venture in the digital marketing industry.
I wanted an apprenticeship because I wanted to get everyday work experience whilst getting a qualification instead of going back to college or university and learning from a classroom.
To help me pursue a career in the digital marketing industry. I did a two-week digital marketing bootcamp course with Baltic Apprenticeships which I successfully completed. After this, someone from the team at Baltic did a screening call with me to see what sort of job role I’d like to pursue in the digital marketing industry and my future goals. Not long after, I had an interview with Wildfire.
I am currently working on my level 3 apprenticeship whilst balancing my everyday tasks at Wildfire. My average day to day duties include: writing blogs, creating social media posts and checking emails.
I have enjoyed my time working with the Wildfire team so far and am looking forward to learning more about the digital marketing industry.”
