Core pillars of our SEO campaigns

Keyword research

We carry out extensive keyword research; analysing your website, sector, and top competition to find the perfect set of keywords for which to begin optimising.

Steps involved in our keyword research

  1. Understand your audience & goals: We help you define your target audience and the purpose of your content or campaigns.
  2. Generate seed keywords: We start with basic, broad terms relevant to your business or industry.
  3. Use keyword research tools: We use Google Keyword Planner and SEMrush to help find keyword ideas, search volume, and competition levels.
  4. Analyse keyword metrics: we evaluate your keywords based on search volume, competition, cost-per-click (CPC), and relevance.
  5. Identify long-tail keywords: Next we focus on specific, lower-competition phrases that are more targeted and often have higher conversion potential.
  6. Analyse competitors: We investigate the keywords your competitors are ranking for to find additional opportunities.
  7. Prioritise keywords: We choose keywords based on their potential to drive traffic and their alignment with your content and SEO goals.
  8. Track & monitor performance: We regularly monitor keyword rankings and performance, adjusting the strategy as needed.

This structured approach helps us target the most valuable keywords for SEO and marketing success.

Technical SEO

Arguably the most important part of a successful SEO campaign is technical SEO. Ensuring Google and other search engines can understand your industry, expertise and offering is vital for ranking well in search results.

Areas we cover within technical SEO

  1. Website crawling and indexing: We ensure search engines can easily crawl and index your site using sitemaps and the robots.txt file.
  2. Site speed optimisation: We improve page load times by compressing images, minimising code, and leveraging browser caching.
  3. Mobile optimisation: We ensure your website is mobile-friendly and responsive, providing a good user experience on all devices.
  4. Secure HTTPS: We use HTTPS encryption to ensure a secure connection for users and signal trust to search engines between your visitors and your website.
  5. Fix broken links & redirects: We regulary address 404 errors, implement proper 301 redirects, and ensure there are no dead-end pages.
  6. Structured data (schema markup): We implement schema markup to help search engines understand your content, leading to rich snippets in search results.
  7. Canonicalisation: We make sure there are no duplicate content issues by using canonical tags to indicate the primary version of a page.
  8. URL structure: We always use clean, descriptive, and user-friendly URLs.
  9. XML sitemap: We submit an updated sitemap to search engines to assist in efficient crawling of all important pages.

Technical SEO ensures that your website is optimised for search engines to crawl, index, and rank efficiently, providing a solid foundation for overall SEO efforts.

Optimising all areas of your website to fall in line with your keyword research is extremely important. From META descriptions to image alt tags, we’ll handle it all ensuring your site is search engine friendly.

Areas within our onsite optimisation

  1. Keyword optimisation: We use target keywords naturally in titles, headings, meta descriptions, and throughout the content.
  2. Title tags & meta descriptions: We write clear, compelling title tags and meta descriptions with keywords to improve your websites click-through rates.
  3. Header tags (H1, H2, etc.): We write structured headings to organise content and highlight important sections.
  4. Content quality: We create valuable, relevant, and original content that addresses user intent and is optimised for both keywords and readability.
  5. Internal linking: We link to related content on your site to improve navigation and help search engines understand the page structure.
  6. Image optimisation: We use descriptive file names, alt tags and compress image sizes for faster load times and accessibility.
  7. Mobile friendliness: We ensure your website is responsive and provides a good experience across all devices.
  8. URL structure: We use clear, keyword-rich, and SEO-friendly URLs that are easy for both users and search engines to understand.
  9. Page load speed: We optimise your website for faster page load times, which improves both user experience and SEO rankings.
  10. User experience (UX): We focus on usability, intuitive navigation and design that keeps visitors engaged and lowers your bounce rates.

Onsite optimisation ensures that your web pages are both search engine-friendly and user-friendly, contributing to better rankings and higher engagement.

Content optimisation

Our SEO specialists and content writers work together to improve and expand your website content through optimised core page copy, blogs and landing pages.

What is content optimisation

Content optimisation is the process of improving the quality and relevance of content to make it more effective for search engines and users. It involves refining content to ensure that it meets the criteria for search engine algorithms and provides a better user experience, ultimately driving higher traffic and engagement.

Key elements of our content optimisation include:

  1. Keyword research: Identifying the most relevant and high-traffic keywords or phrases users are searching for and strategically incorporating them into the content.
  2. SEO best practices: Ensuring the content follows on-page SEO guidelines, such as proper use of meta tags (title, meta description), headings (H1, H2, etc.), alt text for images, and internal linking.
  3. Readability: Ensuring the content is easy to read and understand. This involves structuring content logically, using short sentences and paragraphs, and including bullet points or numbered lists for better scanning.
  4. Content length and depth: Matching the content length with the intent of the user and ensuring the depth of coverage satisfies the topic comprehensively. Long-form content often ranks better when it is detailed and informative.
  5. User intent: Tailoring content to satisfy the user’s intent behind their search query, whether they are looking for information, a product, or service.
  6. Visual elements: Optimising images, videos, and infographics to make the content more engaging, while also ensuring that visual elements are properly tagged and load quickly.
  7. Mobile optimisation: Ensuring the content is responsive and works well on mobile devices.
  8. Internal and external links: Including relevant links to other pages on the same site (internal links) and to authoritative external resources to provide value and improve SEO.

Optimised content is more likely to rank higher on search engine results pages (SERPs), attract more organic traffic, and engage visitors effectively.

Backlinks

Backlinks are an important factor in building authority for your website. They must be researched, gained and monitored in a structured manner on relevant, high-traffic websites.

What is a backlink?

A backlink is a hyperlink on one website that points to another website. It’s often called an “inbound link” or “incoming link.” Backlinks are important in search engine optimisation (SEO) because they act as a signal of trust and authority. When one site links to another, it tells search engines like Google that the content on the linked site is valuable or credible, which can help improve the site’s ranking in search engine results.

Backlinks can be categorized as:

  • Do-follow backlinks: These are standard links that pass SEO value (or “link juice”) from one site to another.
  • No-follow backlinks: These have a special tag that tells search engines not to pass SEO value to the linked site, though they can still drive traffic.

In general, the more high-quality backlinks a website has, especially from authoritative and relevant sites, the better its chances are of ranking well in search engine results.
